About us
WHO WE ARE
konnekt enables people in growth markets to transform their lives through digital products and services

It started with a mission
There are nearly 3 billion people today that remain unconnected and excluded from the digital world. These unconnected populations are largely marginalized groups that are faced with specific barriers that prevent them from being digitally included.
In Kenya, 89% of the population lack meaningful access
This includes including 7.5 million low-income urban Kenyans that are underserved by service providers today. This gap in meaningful access is driven by lack of affordable options, difficulty in accessing options, and a lack of digital know-how

High cost and poor reliability of connections

Lack of necessary knowledge and skills

Lack of relevant content and services

Poor safety and security

Absence of affordable devices

Friction related to identity and payments
35%
women reported using intermediate/ advanced digital services
41%
women reported needing help to use
digital services
64%
women reported not having enough time to use digital services

And women in low-income households are disproportionately disadvantaged
We decided to change things

Konnekt empowers low- and mid-income households to climb the Digital Inclusion pyramid, offering innovative, proven solutions that transform lives and communities.

FEEDBACK WE'VE RECEIVED
What our test users say

“I've never interacted with computers before, I used to think that they are only used in supermarkets and offices, but I'm here to overcome that barrier and embrace digital skills for growth.”

“Smartphones are a sign of growth, people with feature phones are behind with time, I aim to understand how to leverage my smartphone to boost my business.”

“The greatest barrier for me not getting to learn these digital skills is financial constraints and not knowing how to use digital tools. This a good opportunity to learn, I know the outcome will help in educating my children.”
